AIC Conference 2022

We worked with the Australian Institute of Criminology to deliver their hallmark conference from 31 October – 2 November 2022 at the Hyatt Hotel Canberra. The conference had three days of content with 38 sessions across keynotes, three breakout streams, two workshops, a networking reception and awards reception, with 92 speakers. Two separate events were live streamed across the three days, the AIC 2022 conference itself and the Indigenous Clearing House, each having Welcome to Countries delivered by Ngunnawal Elder Jude Barlow. The conference had 200 physical attendees and was live streamed to delegates who couldn’t make it in person.

We helped the AIC with end-to-end event management of the conference. We researched appropriate Canberra venues with options presented and the Hyatt Hotel Canberra being chosen. We created an separate overarching design for the conference which flowed consistently throughout each touch point from the event microsite hosting each speakers bio and session information, an eDM marketing campaign, social media posts, and onsite materials including an 88 page event booklet, conference bags, custom lanyards, media walls, pull up banners, digital signage, PowerPoint templates. We managed registrations and event enquiries through a dedicated event inbox and had complete financial management of the conference as well.

We live streamed the conference with 73 in person speakers and 19 speakers dialling in from around the world. The plenary session was streamed but we had virtual speakers in each of the three conference rooms. We managed all speakers from end to end which included handling abstract submissions, confirming speaker attendance at the conference, briefing them of their requirements and handled each PowerPoint presentation on the day.

We also managed sponsorship for the conference, with 7 sponsors and handled their sponsorship benefits from start to finish, from creating a sponsorship prospectus to execution on event day. We also managed speaker and guest travel, arranging flights and accommodation.
