Modern Slavery Conference

We worked with the Department of the Attorney-General from March 2022 to deliver the Modern Slavery Conference from 27 – 29 June 2023 at the Grand Hyatt Melbourne. The conference had three days of content with three breakout streams and 77 speakers including Senator the Hon Penny Wong, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Attorney-General Mark Dreyfus. The conference had 645 attendees across an in person and live streamed audience.

We helped the Department with end-to-end event management of the conference. We researched appropriate venues in three locations with options presented to the team for selection, with the Grand Hyatt Melbourne being chosen. We created an overarching design for the conference based on the Modern Slavery section’s brand for consistency, flowing consistently throughout each touch point. We produced a 20 page event booklet to provide delegates at registration, and also designed pull up banners, media walls, digital signage, PowerPoint templates and communications. We created a conference microsite and managed registrations through our event software, managing event enquiries through a dedicated event inbox.

We live streamed the conference, with 73 in person speakers and 4 speakers dialing in from around the world. We prepared the online speakers and set them up on event day to ensure that they presented well for both audiences: in person on the large screen in the plenary room and for the live streamed audience.
